Chapter Nine

After the pictures were taken, and having talked to Nathan, Willow was feeling very exhausted. She was back at Mirage Casino after staying away for six years, and playing a game she had promised her father she would not play. Granted, she was sure he would know being in heaven that it was this game or her life. Nathan wanted to pay her back for buying into the pot, but she didn’t want to be treated anymore special then the rest of the players. Willow was thrilled she had won the eighty thousand and a brand new car. This was more than she had had since her father’s death.

Since Willow wouldn’t accept Nathan’s charity, he offered her a hotel suite for the night or longer if she so chose, free of charge. He also asked her if she’d be interested in playing the next tournament in a few days. Willow had to decline, telling Nathan it was too soon. She would however play another game in maybe a month or so, but for now she just wanted to let it all sink in, and relax.

Nathan, being a smart man, took the hint, and let her head up to her room. Scott of course was right behind her; he couldn’t not come up to her room. Here Willow had won Darcy’s money, and could pay him. God forbid she skipped town. That would be what most people would do. But no! Willow wasn’t going to start the new life she wanted off on the wrong foot.

Once inside her suite, Scott broke the ice. “That was a great game! Never knew you had it in you!” Coming up to Willow, he hugged her. She enjoyed the warmth from this strange man—who she was starting to fall for. While they were still hugging, he cunningly whispered, “What do you want to do?”

Pulling out of Scott’s arms, she looked at him slyly. “I don’t know. What do you have in mind?” Willow asked with a hint of lust.

He smiled at Willow, his eyes so suggestive. “Well...!” Scott said pausing. “You probably wouldn’t be up for it, being tired and such?” he teased, throwing the ball in her court.

Scott stood there looking at Willow seductively as she undid her hair from the ponytail letting it fall to her shoulders. After taking her shoes off, she looked at him with sexual desire. “Depends what you’re thinking...” Willow said back to him. Driving Scott to have to spell it out for her, even though she was pretty sure she knew what he wanted.

Pulling out a deck of cards from his slack pockets, Scott started shuffling them in his hands. “Bet you can win it again?”

She smiled at him. “Pen’s on the stakes?”

Still shuffling the cards like a pro, he said with a husky voice, “Winner chooses.”

She looked Scott up and down while running her fingers through her long hair, and twisting some around her fingers. “What we are playing?” Willow asked with a sexual drawl.
